A conversation on the way home from Dallas, Texas, with Kimberly, Grandma Betty and Grandpa John. October 1st, 2016.
“I think some of the things about older songs is that, to me, they were truly love songs,” Betty said. “Do y’all [Kimberly’s generation] have love songs?”
“Sometimes,” Kimberly said. “Most of the time they aren’t played on the radio.”
“Some of those can be vulgar, right?” John said.
“Most of them,” Kimberly said. “We don’t really have that kind of music.”
And then we talked about Chicago and The Beach Boys, and they played a song.
